Listening to you

As the former Public Information Officer at San José Unified, I believe the district would be more inclusive, creative, and responsive if we listened to the voices of our community and created a culture of open dialogue and communication. As a trustee, I would hold myself to that same standard.

With that in mind, I asked parents, students, educators, and community members to take a quick survey, and the responses so far have been nothing short of inspiring.

What will it take to pay teachers more? Where can parents go to get engaged in their child's education? Why does the opportunity gap persist? How can we turn our schools into laboratories of innovation?

These are tough questions, but I know we can find the answers together.

I'll do my best to respond to you through my website blog and personal outreach. If you haven't had a chance to take the survey, we'll keep it open through Election Day.
