Yesterday, the latest campaign finance reports were released to the public, triggering a mad dash from media, pundits, and staffers to see how the candidates have fared in fundraising since January 1st. In the heat of the race, the bigger picture tends to get lost in the shuffle. So my team broke down the numbers...
I'm proud to report that we raised the 2nd most dollars of any candidate in District 6 during the latest reporting period. We continue to have the most individual donors giving the lowest average donation — and it's not even close.
Meanwhile, my fellow candidates have loaned or given themselves more than $134,000 combined. (You may recall that I gave myself the only $1,000 I had to get things rolling back in December.)
When you factor in more than $20,000 being spent by special interests to support other candidates, it's clear that we are running the strongest grassroots campaign in District 6. And it's all because of YOU.
Whether you've given money, walked a precinct, or shared our social media posts, I can't thank you enough for having my back.
I'm working harder than any other candidate in this race, and I don't plan to let up before the polls close at 8pm on June 7th. You can help me celebrate a big win that night by stepping up today.
P.S. In case you missed it, the Mercury News featured me in a recap of a recent candidates forum on housing and homelessness. Please give it a read and share the link with your friends in San José.
