On Monday night, I participated in the last of seven public forums featuring District 6 candidates. The theater at Presentation High School was packed to the rafters, as voters took advantage of this final opportunity to see us in action.
By all accounts, I've performed very well in the forums because of my deep understanding of the issues, my passion for our community, and my comfort with speaking to crowds. But like LeVar Burton used to say on Reading Rainbow, "You don't have to take my word for it."
Take some time to watch the video from Monday's forum, and let me know what you think!
If you like what you see, please share the video with friends, family, and colleagues who live in District 6. Our democracy only works if we all play a part, and you can help engage more people in the process with a click of your mouse.
For those of you who've been asking, "How's it going?" I'd love to give you a scientific breakdown of the numbers, but a good poll costs upwards of $10,000, so it's hard to say. And I'm not into predictions, especially when it comes to local politics.
But I can tell you this much: We've knocked on more than 9,000 doors, and while we're receiving positive responses, there's no way of knowing how things will shake out until 8pm on Election Night. That's why I'm going to be working as hard as I can down the stretch, and I hope you'll join me!
P.S. This Saturday is the last financial reporting deadline of the primary campaign before Election Day. If you haven't already, please make a donation to help us pay our final bills and earn the votes we need to win. Thank you in advance!
