And while potholes aren't partisan and city council candidates don't list their political preference on the ballot, I'm always quick to say that I was born a Democrat.
That's why I'm proud to be endorsed by the Santa Clara County Democratic Party.
I was raised to respect the rights of working people, to look out for the least fortunate among us, and to give voice to the voiceless. I live these Democratic values every day, and it's these values that will guide my work as a city councilmember.
I'm also honored to be endorsed by the Silicon Valley Latino Democratic Forum, and to have the sole endorsement of the Silicon Valley Young Democrats.
They believe that I have the vision and passion to be a progressive champion for all of San José, particularly for communities that consistently get left out of our civic conversations. That's what being a Democrat is all about — opening up the "big tent" to make sure we all have a seat at the table.
I hope you'll join these Democratic leaders in supporting our campaign to bring creative leadership to city hall. Please consider making a donation or volunteering to knock on doors and take our message straight to the voters.
